Elena and Raffaele live in a detached property in Uxbridge with their twin boys aged 6 and, as they are both originally from Italy, they have quite a few guests coming to spend time with them. However, their three-bedroomed home would often feel too small when family and friends came to stay.
"We really wanted more space and so we decided a loft conversion would be the best option for us,” said Elena.
She spent some time online researching loft conversion companies and invited Econoloft to visit. At the very first meeting the Econoloft representative and the couple hit it off and they were confident they had the right company for the job.
"Econoloft developed a Velux loft conversion which is a large, spacious room that we can use as we wish,” said Elena. “We were very impressed with every single member of our build team, the joiners, the electrician, the plasterers, the plumber – they were not only highly professional but also very personable people and we have nothing but praise for them.”
One of the favourite parts of the loft conversion is the new staircase which the family love. Previously they had quite a low ceiling but now the staircase has opened up the house and made it feel so much lighter.
“It’s nice to have a space away from the boys and all their stuff,” said Elena. “When we don’t have guests the room a a child free, toy free retreat, a place we can go to relax and read or get a bit of work done in peace.”
The £30,000 loft conversion was completed in just six weeks.
Elena added: “There is lots of natural light in the room thanks to the Velux windows and one of my favourite times in the loft conversion is at night when we have a full moon – now I can have the moon as my night light. It’s magical.”
