“When you have workmen in the house for weeks on end, it’s vital you can trust them and I have to say that the Econoloft team were just superb,” says Abbie Curd who lives in Redhill, Surrey.
Abbie and her husband Simon purchased their two-bedroom house around three years ago and always had the intention to convert the loft. “The fact that this 1890s house was two-bedroomed was reflected in the price which made it affordable for us,” said Abbie. “We noticed that many of our neighbours had loft conversions and so we always intended to move in and have the work done to our specification.”

“The whole process was quite stress free,” said Abbie. “Most of the work is done in the roof and so you can’t see very much until they come through into the main building of the house. That’s the messy bit, but it was not that bad at all and we actuallt quite exciting to watch the conversion take shape.
“We felt really comfortable with the workmen and they were just brilliant, we can’t praise them enough.”

The couple say the loft conversion has now completed their home which visitors describe as a ‘tardis’ and now that baby Samuel has joined the family, the extra space is essential.
“Nobody can believe how much space we have,” said Abbie. “On the basement floor is the kitchen and dining room, the ground floor offers a living room and study, the first floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom and on the second floor is our lovely, spacious master bedroom and ensuite.
“Not only do we have a fabulous family home for ourselves and our children, but better still we have invested in our family’s future as the loft conversion has, at the very least, paid for itself but we believe that it has added value to our property. It was the perfect solution for us.”
