Dormer

Our most popular type of roof loft conversion is the Dormer loft conversion, which is suitable for most house types throughout the UK. This conversion entails a straightforward extension of your loft, resulting in a flat roof that extends from your sloped roof. This creates additional floorspace and headroom, turning your loft into usable living space.

Rooflight/Velux

If you have ample headroom in your loft, consider a Velux conversion, also known as a rooflight conversion. With our expertise as a Velux approved installer, Econoloft guarantees the highest standard of service when installing rooflights into your existing roof. This style of conversion requires no alterations to the roof structure, resulting in minimal disruption and making it one of the simplest and most cost-effective options available. Additionally, rooflight loft conversions often fall under permitted development, making them an excellent choice for homes with strict planning restrictions. Whether you reside in Orpington, Sevenoaks, St Albans, Sutton, Wandsworth, or anywhere else in the UK, this type of conversion is a fantastic solution.

Mansard

Mansard attic conversions extend the slope of the roof until there is a near vertical drop, maximising space. While they tend to require planning permission, the internal space you gain makes the extra work worth it and Econoloft will guide you through the planning process, making it as easy and stress free as possible.

We customise mansard conversions to blend in with the architectural style of your home, making them perfect for all kinds of properties. They are especially popular in urban areas or sometimes conservation areas.

Hip-to-gable loft extensions are a favourite for semi-detached homes, and they replace the sloping side of hipped roofs with a vertical wall. This provides valuable extra space which ensures you can use your conversion the way you want. In addition, if you have a detached property with two sloping sides, we can even construct a double hip-to-gable conversion.

Aftercare

Econoloft completes loft conversions to a plaster skim finish. The foreman then goes through a snagging inspection with you to ensure you are happy that we have completed the agreed work. Building control inspectors also carry out a last inspection to give final approval and confirm that the conversion meets regulations, after which they give you a completion certificate.

In addition, Econoloft will provide you with our own completion certificate and a 10-year guarantee. Following construction, you are free to decorate and furnish as you wish.
